squash cake

1 box yellow cake mix

2 eggs plus 3 yolks
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 3/4 cup,pattypan(white) squash boiled tender and drained,then mashed.

Blend eggs sugar,water, and squash(mashed).
Mix all ingredients same as for regular cake and pour into buttered 9x14 inch cake pan.
Bake in 350 degree oven.(about 45 minutes)till golden brown on top.
Make meringue with 3 egg whites and 6 tbsp.sugar.
Spread on cake and brown in hot oven at 425 degrees.
